Looking for some help regarding Nikon D50 SD card capacity...

I bought my wife a D50 second hand sometime ago, she has used a 2GB SD card since then. I have now aquired a 4GB card and the camera shows a "CHA" symbol when the card is inserted! I assume this means the maximum card capacity is 2GB? I have looked for a firmware update but can't find one, it's as if Nikon don't support this camera there is hardly anything on the Nikon site.

The current firmware version in the camera is A: 1.00 & B: 1.00

Anyone know if there is a later revision that may allow support for higher capacity cards?

Cheers....Kevin.

Have a look in the manual, it will tell you what cards, and capacity, can be used in it. I doubt there is much support for it now as it has been discontinued for a while.
Just had a quick look and there are no firmware updates for the D50.

Sadll, the D50 won't take cards over 2gb. It was launched just as the high SDHC compatibility debuted, but unfortunately Nikon left that out on this one. :(

Had the option of 2Gb or 4gb card the other day and went for 2. Good choice by the looks of it as I didn't think there would be a max.
