Hey everyone :) Thread number eleventythousand :P

Looking for some advice really, the more I read up on my gear the more I feel limited. The D50 doesn't support commander mode, I have been told many a time that the SB800 would be much better then my current SB600 and my lens although good, suffers from very slow focus etc...

So, im looking at the possibility of buying a whole new setup... DSLR Body, Lens(s) and flashgun etc.

I can either stick with Nikon and then at least I have the 70-300 lens etc or go with cannon...

My photography (if thats what you want to call it) varies from portraits to band photography to wildlife to landscapes... basically im crap at all photography and I just take photos of everything :clap:

My budget would be around £400 to £500 maximum.

I dont see why a sb800 is going to be much better than a sb600. I wouldnt bother upgrading that unless you really know why you need to.
The commander mode on a d80-d90 would put the flash to more use anyway.
which version of the 70-300 do you have? af-s?
A second hand d90 would be a massive upgrade and may improve your lens focus speed depending on which version you have.

someones selling a d80 with a lens on here if the d90 is out of budget.

I dont see why a sb800 is going to be much better than a sb600.
The only reason really would be so that he could use the SB-800 as a commander on his current body, and fire his SB-600 off-camera.

If it were me in your position, I'd be looking at either a used D200 or D90 depending on your needs, master that with your current lens & flash, then look and see where you want to start spending your cash.
