Hello

I'm looking at upgrading my current bridge camera fuji S5800 and wondered people's opinion on the nikon D50

long exposures and shooting in raw is the reason I want to upgrade I take mostly landscapes

Would I be better waiting untill I can save more money to get a newer model?

thanks

The D50 is a fantastic camera and I thoroughly enjoyed using mine before upgrading to a D80. It should meet both your requirements i.e. long exp's & RAW easily - however, if I were you, I would save a bit more money and pick up a used D80. You can pick up a decent one with a kit lens for about £400ish I think.

I think it depends on all of the features you need.
If the D50 has all the features you want and the price is good, go for it.

A friend of mine has a Fuji S5700 and I have a D50. My D50 is faster in just about everything. Noise level is still very good even at ISO 1600 (or so I think). There are other improvements over the S5700, of course. I don't think you'll be sorry unless you'd want video on your first DSLR.
