Nikon d5000 18 x 55 or 105mm???

Hi guys,

I am hopefully purchasing a Nikon d5000 this week and have two offers availible. (18mm x 55mm or the 105mm) Taking price of these packages out of the question which lens would offer the best for a newbie to DSLR photography?

I will mainly be photographing landscapes, and my family etc.

Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

Get the 105 - the extra length always helps!

Definitely the 105mm. As has been said, the extra reach will always be a benefit....especially if you're not planning on buying more lenses straight away.
