Am I right in understanding that the AF system in the Nikon D5000, D90 and D300 is essentially the same, although the D300 has more points? I ask because when I use the D5k with my Nikkor 55-200 AFS, it doesn't seem to have the best continuous Af. I mean that, say I'm tracking a subject, then it goes behind a tree, and then reappears, it seems to take about 3-4 secs to adjust forcus for the closer object, and vice versa. If its a gradual change in distance, then there's no problem. Yet, my 30D was much better at that type of C AF, even though it has a poorer AF system, as reviewers have pointed out when testing the 550D (same AF) and Nikon D90 (again same AF as my D5000).
