nikon d5000 and afs lens ?

hello alll,

i have a nikon d5000 and want to get a long lens for footy, been using dads
70-200 2.8 vr which is afs but obvs cant afford one of these! . i have looked at the 55-200 4.5 f and the 70-300 4.5 loads of sigma like 80-400 which i want but there alll af !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is starting to bugg me :/ are nikon going to bring out more afs stuff at cheaper prices ? other question what long lens which would be of for semi pro footy for under 500 quid ?

No - the current 55-200 and 70-300 form Nikon are both AFS and will work fine with your d5000

oh right :/ sorry would they be ok for football i have had a look at fixed 180mm and 200mm and 300mm seem to be very expensive :/ do sigma
do cheper ones ?
 
the 55-200 is fairly quick but i think you'll need more length for football. I've had some good shots with it but i've needed to crop them. 300mm would be a much better length for you
