Can someone answer a question regarding the 18-55 kit lens on these cameras please. Does the front of the lens rotate when zooming?

Thanks very much for the quick replies! I'm thinking in terms of polarising filters, so it looks as if one couldn't be used easily on either lens.

My old ones had a part that rotated, so you could screw them in and then the end piece rotated, I forget who made them.

Alternatively, you could opt for the whole Cokin setup and just hold the mount whilst you focus.
 
Yes, the polariser does rotate, but a bit of a pain to have to alter it every time you zoom or focus.
Wouldn't the Cokin filter holder rotate also?

Yes, but the holder is much easier to hold still as it's bigger. One hand on the camera, one on the holder. It's not an ideal solution by any means, but it's easier than small screw-ins.
