No.
But you can use the self timer and set it to take a number of shots. You can also set the delay for the self timer from 2 to 20 seconds.
P160 in the manual

Thanks for the reply ...and ye i have set it for 20s and 3 shots ....but the problem i have is the fish i will be holding are pritty big and its hard to press button and get back to the fish pick it up ready for the shots in time .....

I think you can set it for 9 shots at 3s intervals- so 27 seconds with a 20 second delay.
Looking again at page 161- remote on duration can be set for 15 mins.

It would be worth trying:
set self timer, don't press shutter button.
press remote and see if that sets the self timer off.

There is also an interval timer- page 56
I think this is your best option :)
You can set it for 999 pics and delay the start for when you want, also interval time for hours, minutes and seconds.

I have the 5200 and knew you could do this, wasn't sure about the 5100.

Hi kendo and tjanks for all your help and advice ...will have a play round and see what suits me best ....just be alot less hassle if i could turn self timer from remote lol

:)
Good luck!
