Asking for a friend who's one of them Nikon users!!

Seriously, I'm not really up on Nikon gear and can't give him any decent advice.

He needs to know what to look out for at the lower end of the market. In other words, no SB-900 suggestions please!!;)

Are the jessops branded flashes worth considering?:thinking:

Any help is greatly appreciated:thumbs:
 
Just got an sb-600 from Kerso £170 ish, great flash for a beginner like myself.
 
I have just got a Nissin Di622 and again its a very good beginner flash unit
 
The SB-400 was designed for use with the smaller bodies like the D40/60/3000 etc. They may have been discontinued now though, as my local Comet had the one in their display case marked as such....:shrug:

But you can bounce off walls and in a small room the light manages to get up to the ceiling as well :) or use a bounce card or get a lead and take it off the camera. Great little flash.
