Nikon D60 standby time

i just wondered if there is a way to change the standby time on the d60, i have brought a wireless remote and after setting up works fine, but after a minute the camera goes into standby mode and the wireless remote cant be used to switch back on,
also you have to set the shooting mode from single to remote, when the camera goes to sleep and you turn it back on the shooting mode goes back to single
any advice please

yeah isnt great but 15 is better than 1 min lol
