It is impossible to find!

Does anyone know where you can get one, tried ebay they only have D70s Google gives me nothing. If anyone could find it I would Greatly appreciate it.

I'm almost certain the D70s one is the same thing. The only physical difference between the two cameras was the bigger screen.

I asked on ebay and they response was

Hi,

It won't fit NIKON D70 I'm afraid as D70 and D70S are in slightly different shapes.

Does anyone know the camera dimensions between the D70 and D70s?

Nikon never made one for the D70, but 3rd part grips are available and as far as I can see, the D70s one should fit fine.

HOWEVER.. The d70 isnt "grip enabled" so any buttons or dials wont work, you will only get extended battery life. Some 3rd party grips did have IR functionality which used the cameras inbuit IR reciver in a heath robison affair to fire the shutter.

Thanks,

So this one will fit, and give extended battery life but the buttons would be for show.

I find the ebay sellers comment about it not fitting a D70 hard to believe. The Opteka and Hahnel ones fitted both, so I'd be surprised if some unbranded make isn't using the old tooling from one of these brands.

Worth bearing in mind that D70 grips don't have a shutter release button on them, which was a deal breaker for me when my D70 was my main camera.

So the ebay one i linked will only provide better battery life nothing else, if it fits..

Yes and as the battery on a D70 lasts forever it just adds extra weight to cart around.

I think its more of a comfort thing,

Now silly as it sounds ive been asked to do a wedding as a backup photographer and it just looks more professional to have a bigger body! + not having to ever worry about battery will help.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the D70s to the D70
