I am a wedding and portrait photographer and I currently shoot a D3 with a D300s backup. I have been waiting for nikon to release the D800 or D4 in the expectation it will do HD video.
It seems with the events in Japan that this might take even longer to eventuate and I'm thinking about picking up a D7000 in the interim. I want to used the video function to create fusion slide shows with short snippets of video mixed with stills, video will only be a few seconds per shot.
I would like to know if anyone is using the D7000 for this purpose and what your impressions are with the results. I don't really want to get a cannon just for the video as I want to use my existing glass and will probably pick up a pro nikon with HD video when they become available.
