Is there any way of setting the Nikon D7000 up so that when viewing a photograph on the screen at the back of the camera it displays the shutter speed and apature instead of the file number and the date.Thanks.
 
On my old D80, and on my D300 & D700 when you are viewing the image on the rear screen, you can scroll through various options with the front command dial including the Histogram, Highlights, and several displays that show the info you are after.

Once you have the display you want, image playback will always default to the last display chosen.

I would imagine it is the same on your D7000
 
The only way I can think of is by pushing the up arrow on the dial on the back - you get the histogram data, the exif info, copyright info, and so on... but that always gets displayed over the image rather than directly above or below it...
 
I can use the dial on the back but it is just another button to press and I have to go back again to see full size photo.I do not know why Nikon don't do it like Canon and have the shutter speed and aperture display.Why does anyone want to know the date and the file number when they are in the middle of shooting action photography!
 
I contacted Nikon about this and they said it can not be done.I pointed out that a lot of photographers want to see the aperture and shutter speed on display,not the date and file number!.I also pointed out to them that Canon display the aperture and shutter speed on the large photo by default.:thumbsdown:

The Canon way of displaying the shutter speed and aperture on the large photo on the back of the camera is a far better way of displaying the information.The Nikon requires more button pressing in order to obtain the same information.The Nikon displays the file number! and the date! intead of the shutter speed and aperture.Who the hell wants to know the date and the file number in the middle of an action photo shoot.Nikon:thumbsdown:
