Nikon D7000.. Where to buy?

Im after a Nikon d7000 and dont know where to buy...

Retailer? Second hand? Ebay?

Trying to get it cheap as chips but from a retailer would be preferable.

John lewis are charging £1179 at the min, and if i pay £47 i get a 3 year accidental cover. Which is repaired or replaced within 14 days.

PC World/ Currys are charging £1179 too, but if i pay £149 i get a 3 year accidental cover. Which is repaired or replaced within 28 days

Should i buy online? Like warehouse express ... would i still get a full year manufacturers warranty..


Also SD cards. Which one do i need for d7000. And sorry to sound dumb :thinking: but which is the best SD card. i dont quite understand these class grade. Which is the best one and cheapest place to buy?

Ask Stuart at DigitalDepot (also a member on TP) he may be able to sort you out with a deal - but its best to ask him... DigitalDepot thread Would be best to go straight to the man who knows - and thats Stuart :thumbs:

don't forget the nikon comes with a two year warranty so don't go spending too much on that extra 3rd year.

memory card wise I have just got one of these:

SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC UHS-I Memory Card

They are not cheap - 30 notes for 8GB from amazon but they are mega fast - I used to sometimes hit buffer problems with my D7000 - unable to take a pic whilst the camera is writing to card - but have had no such issues with this card. I think they only work to high speeds with the D7000 so be careful if anyone else is thinking of trying one.
 
Presumably those are the kit (body and lens) prices you've quoted?

No reason not to use mail order. The retailers listed on camerapricebuster all provide UK stock so you will get a 2-year Nikon UK warranty.

Most of those on ebay are imports so you will only have a seller warranty.

Has the d7000 increased in price? Had mine about 6 weeks paid 899 body only from jesops. I thought the kit with the 18-105 at the time was like 1089?

Thanks for the info.. I actually just spotted myself too..

Id rather pay 100 quid extra and get it from currys or whatever and save myself the trouble later on..
