Hi all, started my photography business, but with a small budget I am limited. I have ordered the Nikon D7000 mainly for wedding work. Is this a capable camera for the job or should I re-think. My main worry is the SD cards, no compact flash. Any advice?
 
More then capable to be honest. ISO performance is superb for a DX camera. Stick some nice glass in front and you will be happy.

Whats wrong with SD cards? Should be fine man.

Only down side of the camera is the buffer, so shooting RAW for sports in fast burst mode might be a problem.
 
Thanks. The only reason I question the SD card id because I have only used compact flash thinking they were quicker and more pro.

Any thoughts?

SD cards shouldn't pose a problem, and in any case you can have have the 2nd slot acting as back up.
 
You might want to consider a backup body aswell. Most professional togs have a backup.

If your budget is tight, you might consider a d5100 - same sensor.
 
I originally bought a gripped D300 as a backup but end up using it as main and the D7000 as backup/video work lol.
 
I have a D100 that I still use for back up, a bit of a blast from the past but it still works and anything is better than nothing, right. Anyway, it's not always about the gear but the person behind it and what you do with it.
