Nikon D750 & D780

No matter what I am adjusting the right focus is out, not just with one lens. Tried another D750 in Park Cameras and it was perfectly fine with my lenses. Not really been happy with its focus since day one.

Took a trip to the High Peak yesterday. The light was appalling tbh. The sun shone for about 3 minutes and i wasn't in a position really to capitalize on it. Still, got to recce a new area for future potential shots and test a few settings on the camera.

Potential there mate. I was in Buxton, Friday, with work so took the camera just in case. Turned out pretty awful so didn't bother getting it out.
 
Yet another grey day down south, so couldn`t be arsed to venture out (and it was supposed to be foggy this morning, which it wasn`t). So I decided to play around again ;)

24-120 plus 3x sb-800`s and a fair bit of photochop ... Kinda fits my mood today.

Question:

I sometimes use live view but it's an absolute PITA to move the focus point as it takes an age.

Is there a way round this? Something like reducing the amount of focus points?

I had a camera like that, turns out the AF module was out of alignment.

Only to get it included on the "All the camera owners thread" though.
I'm not sure if this is the biggest owner's thread yet, but if not, it will be soon I guess.

I think the only way its going to 'drop' is if they bring back BT payments, no sign of that happening though.

Its £1017 at the moment.....It did drop to below £1000, I think £998, but I didn't pull the trigger, as was waiting on something else.....Has now gone up.....

The prices reflect the exchange rates and how strong / weak the £ is with respt to Chinese or Hong Kong currency. Some of you may have noticed the Chinese took a heavy beating recently and £ grew stronger and price of D750 at Panamoz dropped to £998 and in one instance to £968 for few hours without BACS.

The Chinese Yuan and Hong Kong dollar since then has recovered and both Panamoz and Hdew proces went up. I think the price won't come down unless Nikon reduces the price. It might actually go up as these currencies regain their position.
 
Anyone have any experience or use one of the 24-85mm f2.8 - f4 lens on their D750? I have owned a good few of the older D lenses and always found them to be good performers, apart from one 28-105mm lens I had.

I'm selling my Sigma 105 Macro due to lack of use and going to buy a lighter zoom again after selling my 24-120mm f4 lens.

TNT delivered this today.

Finally, official owner of D750.

Ordered on 15th and received today, not bad and tracking info was excellent.

The invoice on box says photographic device.

Can't wait to get home and try out my lenses.

Packaging on the outside suggests cardboard box!

Happy times ahead for you :)
 
Still at work and just managed to take a peak inside the box. Everything seems to be there including a English user manual. Just a couple of things I noticed

1. There is no warranty card - I know it is grey and there won't be any European Warranty card, but shouldn't it come with a warranty card for the country intended? My unit appears to be meant for sale in Hong Kong as per the coding BK HK.
2. The power cable (with plug) seems like not the original Nikon one - I guess that is normal for grey imports where they swap the original.

I quickly checked the serial number for the flare problem and it is not affected (expected, but wanted to check it anyway)

Has anyone tried to register their grey D750 on Nikon UK/Europe site?

They have just dropped in price in the states again would expect them to drop everywhere else soon. Also a few rumours around of a new model coming soon.

1. I believe the keep the warranty card for their use, also to check against purchase if a warranty claim with them is needed.

2. It would come with a two pin plug so they put their own in.

3. You can register ( I have ) but it won't be covered unless a worldwide problem like the flare issue arises. It's worth registering though for FW updates etc...........

Dont worry about the above just enjoy your new toy.:)
 
This is one hell of a large thread [emoji2], is there any optimised settings posts somewhere?
 
The main rumours seem to be for a D5,
Oh, and of course the fabled D300 replacement.:exit:

You don't need to register to get the FW updates.

By registering they send you emails for the updates, which people usually post on here. They also notify of the recent call backs and I get a regular mail shots for whats happening in the Nikon world etc.............. It's the only benefits of registering.

I did the same with my Fuji's and I still get email notifications for FW updates and the Fuji X magazine every quarter.
 
Well camera is back, they've sorted the flare issue, new framed focusing screen, new rear lcd screen, error with the "D" lenses sorted, and a general once over. Overall a very well deserved MOT! and a very happy chappy

Check thoroughly for the warranty card, they're often lurking down the side of the box or in the manual or something ;)
