I got the D700 replacement I wanted, and more with the D750 :D U1/U2 banks FTW!

Thanks David. Now sell sell sell ;). What is the coma like on stars with the 14mm (or haven't you got round to seeing any with this weather). I'm currently using the Tokina 11-16mm DX at 16mm and the coma on the edges is terrible. The stars look like bats not pinpricks of light.
 
Now that the type of screen protector to buy has been determined:) What spare batteries are people using, Nikon or copies from Amazon etc Cheers

In other news I just cleaned the sensor on the D750, remarkably easy. Never done it before, panic over. [emoji3]

Nikon got spares from digital rev for 30 odd quid with free postage
 
RE: the cleaning, if anyone is struggling with a greyed out 'lock mirror up' option in the Nikon menu, the camera won't let you do it when the battery is low on charge (y)

Took me ages to work that one out!
 
DTSE (or something like that) batteries ad Nikon for me.

The idea of cleaning the sensor myself scares the c$"p out of me......

The only issue I ever had was the size of it (long n skinny). Probably not much shorter than the 150-600 you had. VR works well, and focus locks on like a rabid dog ;)
 
Looks like Ex pro or DSTE then, bit cheaper than Nikon - though can understand why people stick with Nikon batteries. Thanks all

I notice you picked up a VR1, stunning lens it really is, had one for a year or so and was amazing on my 700. I only sold it due to the size/weight but kind of regret it, saying that was a bit much doing street stuff and travelling lol. Enjoy
 
Trying to upload a photo and I thought that the maximum size was 1000 pixels along the long edge. I have exported the photo in Lightroom 6 down to 700 pixels and it is still saying that the file is too large. Am I doing anything wrong. The file size is only 384KB as well.

You can always post links from the likes of Flickr using the BB code.
 
Been fiddling with the menu settings tonight to program buttons and generally playing with the various settings. Got to Colour Space and I had initially set this to 'Adobe' but the wondered if that was the right way to go. What colour space do you all use and why please?

Have you been folloing any guides, have got David Busch's Nikon D750 Guide in the post but any thing else recommended?

sRGB for me. Especially if it's for the web.
Keep it to the same space all the way through LR/PS or whatever you use for processing, and output to sRGB.

If you're shooting in RAW it makes no difference afaik, you set the Colour Space after processing when you save.

Set it to Adobe RGB if shooting in Jpeg, but make sure you convert to sRGB after editing, or printing or posting online.

There is the school of thought that says keep it sRGB all the way through. Up to you to decide which is best.
