hi guys
does anyone know how Nikon test their new cameras? reason I ask is I spotted a chap were I work with a dslr with D760" strap on it.
now it could be he just got a strap with this on from somewhere but as I work with medical imaging and this guy works with medical illustrations I wondered? if a get a chance I will try and see the guy and ask, but I wandered if Nikon might send cameras out to be tested like this or if its unlikely?

As already stated they do send out pre-production models to certain individuals to test the cameras, get rid of any bugs etc etc. However, I could've sworn that with previous models the pre-production models did have the correct badge number, but f2.8 says not so I can't be 100% sure. Quick look on the internet and I can't see that you can buy D760 straps so it's either a case of you've misread the strap, or they do indeed have the model number etc on the pre-production models.hi guys

nope definatly didn't misread the strap-well almost definiteThey do send out pre-production models to a selected range of photographers. There is no chance at all that these have any recognisable model numbers especially the likes of a strap. These are usually completely debadged cameras without even a Nikon logo and with Nikon I am pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that they don't send them to outside of Japan. All the camera manufacturers do this a few years ago I was doing a shoot for a local magazine and at the location bumped into one of the Fuji X photographers who was out testing a pre-production camera. I know him from years back so we had a bit of a chat about the camera before I had to get back to work.
I made the mistake of mentioning it on twitter and got a message from him not long after asking me to delete the tweet as he was getting inundated with messages from the photography magazines etc wanting details
You probably just misread the strap.
sorry I wasn't clear,i am in medical imaging. the medical illustrations dept. take detailed pics of operations body parts etc. they use Nikon cameras. It's not a medical imaging product so highly doubt it.

Tim, what version 35 did you take this with? Between your pp and the lens it looks like a “Brenizer” photo. Gorgeous.
