Beginner Nikon D7500

Hello my son got a Nikon D7500 for Christmas he loves taking pictures of planes at the airport but he also loves to contrail spot and get the airplanes high up ..can anyone recommend what lens to use for a good zoom ? Thanks

Nikon 200-500 for a telephoto zoom without the mega price-tag.

Sigma do a 150-600mm for a long lens but if he's at the airport something like a 70-300mm would probably be enough. A long lens like a 150-600 isnt cheap.
