Hi,

I've recently bought a D80 + 18-135 lens.
I'm looking to add a second lens, budget of £200.

Have considered a AF Prime 35mm/ AF 18-50mm VR/ AF Prime 50mm.
I've been told the sharpness on a Prime lens is impressive?

Any advice? Looking on Amazon, any other options?

Dave

The Nikon sales thread.....

but what do you want it to do for you?

Thanks Dave,

I think I'm looking for bright and sharp photos, maybe the Nikon 50mm 1.8 would be the lens for me.

You should def. have a 50mm 1.8. Cracking lens for the money. You'd have plenty of change too.

A 50mm can be had new for around £90 or between £50-80 on Ebay.

You really need to decide based on your intended use -- have a play with your 18-135 and see which focal length seems most natural.

If you're looking for primes, as a general lens the AFS 35/1.8 might work best.

Others worth a look are the 50/1.8 AFD you're already considering or, a used 85/1.8 AFD or Tamron 90/2.8 Macro.

Alternatively, save a bit more and add a wider or longer zoom.
