Shooting with the D90 and 50mm 1.8D for the first time yesterday and I'm a bit disappionted at the AF-C speed. Seems to be a good bit slower than my 18-50 2.8 HSM Sigma and 70-300VR.
I was shooting my 2yr old son who is always on the move. I used the focus point to the right of centre and shot in portrait. The AF didn't seem to adjust fast enough when he was running towards/away from me.
Am I simply asking to much from the D90 and non motor lens?
I was shooting at F2-3.2 but I doubt that made the difference.
You can hear the focus changing with my other two lenses but nothing from the 50mm. :bang:
