Has anyone come across this? A google search doesn't give me a comprehensive answer but I cam across it last night at the end of a day of street togging. The battery grip light stayed a steady green and this error message came up on the LCD. The only way I could combat it was to remove the batteries, then it went back to normal.

I don't want this to turn into a problem every time I go out, and was hoping there would be a simple explanation for this?

According to p257 of the D90 manual the memory card is locked (write protected). You should slide card the write-protect switch to the “write” position - see p31 of said manual.

Hope this helps ...

i had the very same problem, i used a different memory card for the time being and then when i got back home, the card that was giving me the error i formatted it in the computer first the the camera and it was fine again.

google shows its a common problem some have said cleaning the contacts and other useing sandisk cards solves it.

I had this once & it turned out to be a dusty card where i had dropped it, quick wipe on my trousers, popped it back in, no more probs. Could you have got it dusty at some point?

Cheers all, I was worried it was going to be a long term issue. I'm due to get some new cards anyway so I'll do that this week.
