I'm looking into buying a grip for my D90, been reading a bit and I've seen lots of people say the MB-80 has a very sensitive shutter realease which is something I do not want, is there any 3rd party you'd recommend? Anyone have experience with the Zeikos one? Only thing I want it to have is a shutter release similar to the D90 itself and not some mushy button if that makes any sense..

Can't say I noticed a problem with the shutter release on the MB-D80 being sensitive :shrug:
Had a few "premature discharges" with my D80+MB-D80, but that was down to user error, got used to it in the end. Had it "go off" a few times when i picked it up but that was due to not locking the grips shutter release.
Made the D80 a lot better for me to hold, much more comfortable.

Is ti the case the you can half depress the MB-80 shutter release so that you will get the meter reading through the veiw finder?

yes you can, I have never had a problem with my mb-d80 grip
