hi. do you think a d90 refurb would be a better buy than secondhand, off ebay, seeing as they come with a years warranty, anybody out there had any experience of one, thank you.

Not sure, but these days a refurb often means something that has been bought and returned un-used but cannot be sold as new!!

Personally, I'd prefer to buy second hand of a member of TP, than buy of Ebay.

At least with TP members, you know that they will have looked after their kit.

Also, I'd be wary about the warranty. Sounds okay, but you'll only know if it's worth it, if you have to use it. Everything may be fine, but it's certainly a risk.

If it's a factory refurb (ie it's gone back to Nikon and repackaged) then yes... a 'returned item' from the retailer or something I would be a little more wary of.

A factory refurb in my view is a better bet that brand new. If its been refurbed, then you know its been throughly tested before being sold again. Brand new only has the basic checks before going out on the shelves.

Ive bought 4 factory refurbs, 1 about 6 years ago which is still going strong, and my current 50d which had about 100 shots on it when I got it.

I got my 50d on ebay. Canon have a refurb shop on there. In fact I have had 3 of the 4 cameras from the same shop on ebay.
