Nikon D90 + SB600

Will the D90 fire my SB-600 remotely without any other remote triggers?

yes in commander mode........will also work with an optical sensor if you prefer,

(my Nissin 622 will only work remotely using its optical sensor, it doesnt use Nikons CLS)

Thats good news then. I tried to look on the Nikon website spec page for the D90 but it said it only did SB900 & SB800. thanks.

The SB600 is a CLS compatable gun and the D90 can act as a controller so yes it will fire

I use the SB600 with my D90 and the only limitation I have found is that I can't fire it with any other light source, such as a studio light. It will only fire with a commander signal from the on-board flash (the SB800 and 900 can).

Other than that, it's a very capable system
