Nikon DX lenses on FF

If it's anything like the D3 you can set it to automatically crop the sensor to DX dimensions.
Of course you then have a pretty expensive 6mp camera.
Might be worth giving it a shot using the full sensor just to see what you get, I used an 18-55 on my D3 and it only vignetted about half way into the zoom range.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of using Nikons 12-24 f4 and 17-55 f2.8 DX lenses on the D700. Any comments or advice welcome...
If you disable crop mode it will work from 19 / 20mm if I remember correctly, and the other one from about 25mm, probably dependent on aperture as to how dark the corners are.
