Nikon F801

Anyone know this camera, not used it for a while and it has popped up into rotation to give a whirl, when I came to load a roll of film got the "E" message and it would not advance and load.

What film are you loading? If it doesn't have the iso info on the cartridge, you have to set it manually . Fomapan films are generally like that.

Tried a couple of rolls Peter, HP 5 etc, loaded into F90 straight away.

fully charged set of new re-chargables,

One corner of the holder looks a bit high but camera powers up shows full battery at indicator

If you click the shutter when no film is loaded does it sound like the advance is working?

If so then the film has not caught on the roller and hence fails to load.

If the film is far enough across and is not being taken up then it could be the motor has failed.

Another guess:- If you haven't set the lens for using shutter priority (using shutter priority) you'll get an error e or ee....... IIRC I had that problem on my F4.
