Hi folks...

I was considering a 10-20mm/ 12-24mm lens but think they may be a bit 'too fisheye' for the purpose intended, so am leaning towards either a Tamron 17-35mm f2.8-4 Di, a Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 EX DG HSM, or a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5 DC Macro.

Could you give me critique on both please, pro's & con's with (non-landscape) images if you have them in order to show their capabilities at either end of the focal range. Also, what is a realistic price on them used and any advice on other F2.8 lenses I should consider around this focal range, especially down in the 17mm end.

Many thanks, in advance. :)

When I was looking at the Nikon 17-35 everyone I spoke to and all the reviews I read said the Tamron was very close to it in terms of IQ.

Really, blimey! Did you buy the Nikkor in the end Stevo, have you got any (non-landscape) images you could link to here as a astarter for examples of this focal length's capabilities, and as a comparator to the non-OEM glass?

I didn't end up getting a 17-35. I opted for a 20mm prime instead and kept my 24-60.
