I recently found a Nikon SB-24 flash in my loft! My father-in-law gave me his old Nikon SLR kit but I never noticed the flash being there. Anyway, I am trying to use it with my Nikon F50 and managed to download a copy of the original manual. The Manual covers a few Nikon SLRs from the same era as the flash (circa. 1988) but not the F50.
I have never used a dedicated flash. On the F50, only the TTL functions seems to be compatible with the as if I try to use the "A" or "M" function, the camera tells me that there is a TTL error. The zoom on the flash as well as the aperature settings are still adjustable. Am I right in thinking that in TTL, it is works in an automated way with the camera, so thise adjusments do not matter.
I hope my query is not too confusing. If it is, it demonstrates my feeling! Any asistance will be well received
