Nikon Flash or others?

I am slowly getting my kit together D3000 / Sigma 70-200 2.4 and a Nikond 35mm 1.8 so for the point of doing a little portrait kids playing in the park / housing pictures etc i would like a flash.

However i know that i can use a remote flash via the D300 however what Nikon flashes do i need will it be a SB-800 and above, and is there any 3rd part ones that do this and give TTL.

I used a Nissin di6122 MK II with CLS.

Should work fine. I also used two sb900's off camera too.
