Yes
I have just phoned Nikon to register my new D300 for the two year free guarantee.
I don,t normally take out extended warranty with anything, but with the Nikon third year option you get covered for theft and accidental damage
for all three years for a one off payment of £120.Or you pay at £10 per month without any interest charges.I was thinking of looking for camera insurance so to me this looks a good deal.
What do you think?Has anyone else taken it out?

Yes, I took the extended warranty and the Accidental Damage cover.

Although my gear would have been covered on my normal household insurance there would have been a substantial excess. This overcame the problem for me.

If it's run by Homeserve (who operate the 2nd year of the Nikon warranty) make sure you get your paperwork. I'm still waiting for my second year warranty certificate and it's due to expire in 6 weeks

Thanks for your feedback.I havn,t recieved any paperwork yet so I don,t know if it is homeserve that runs it.I have a period of time to pull out of it if need be.As I said in my original post I never normally take extra cover on anything.I was really looking at it:thinking: as an insurance policy.Perhaps I should check on prices for camera insurance!.
