Who's the best author giving simple, comprehensive guidance to the Nikon range of bodies?

Thinking of getting some in good old fashioned paper and ink.

If your after model specific have you looked at Thom Hogans books? I got one free when I brought a used Nikon body off this forum. Covers what all the settings do with some recommendations thrown in but isn't too in-depth or technical.

Simon Stafford's range of Books aren't bad - but, as you can imagine, things go out of date quickly.
