Ok having read into a previous post regarding Nikon D40 lens and also reading some amazon reviews I am swaying towards getting the Nikon 55-200MM F4.5-5.6G AF-S VR DX Black Lens.
I currently only have a kit lens and find i'm limited to portraits and things close by. I live in a coastal area and also have mountains close by. Would this lens be a good all rounder for taking pics of the cliffs, mountains, kids at sports day, beach photos ect?? I was also looking at the sigma 70-300 (i think it was that range) but would the 55-200 do the trick. I find that cropping into pics taken on the kit lens zooms is pretty good so i'm guessing i would be able to do the same on the 55-200.
I have found it quite cheap at camerabox link below. Is this a reputable company to buy from, in the search bar is said not from HK which rang some alarm bells but it said it operates from oxfordshire - anyone had any dealings or know of anywhere cheaper again??
