Nikon Lens

Just got one of these nikon af [ nikkor 70 - 300mm 1.4 5.6 G ] will post photo later.
for a tenner off a mate from work, he had it for his 35mm film camera, and only used it a couple of times.
Seems to work fine on my D7000, will try it out in the daylight tomorrow.

Was going to get the Sigma one for £99 PC World, Would there be much difference between the two???

Just to remind everyone I am a complete beginner in DSLRs, Sorry for all the qeustions, but I am keen to learn.

Thanks Mate. Was not sure if it would fit my D7000, but after reading up seems like most of the old 35mm lenses fit.
