Nikon new body releases

OK - before I splash the cash for a new D700 body are there any new FF releases on the near horizon that will have me regretting not hanging on for another couple of months?
I realise that there will always be somthing new and updated but just seeing if anyone knew of anything that was due to drop out of the pipeline imminently so to speak
 
If you search you'll find other threads with similar requests...alas PetethePrimate's post is probably the closest to a 'Nikon rumour' you'll get at the moment
 
The D5100 is supposedly released today. If that goes ahead, it may be an indicaion that other future planned released are ok to go ahead too. The factory is open and producing, although not to full capacity.
 
I spoke to grays or westminster last week and they seem to think that due to the factory closure that the nearest we will see anything is the end of the year but probably next year now.
I want to go for a D700 as its more then what i need but was hoping there would be a new model out soon to try and push prices down, Unfortunatly its seems to be going the other way :(

Yep, here in, Australia prices on most nikon gear just went up. Apparently one of the big stores that sells general type electronics AND cameras tried to buy up most of the stock from nikon Australia, but nikon are releasing it in smaller amounts and making sure all their retailers are getting some.

There's even rumors about nikon setting up some production outside of Japan as power is such an issue there. Seems kind of drastic but who knows.
