Nikon nifty 50 question

I have been saving for ages to get a nifty 50 for my Nikon D60. I was going to settle for the 1.8 but I know this wont autofocus on my D60.
Now I have found a secondhand Nikon 50mm 1.4 D AF lens on Digital depot and wonder if it would autofocus on my D60.I could just about manage the money.

So far as I know, no it won't, sorry!

No it won't, it HAS to be an AF-S lens, the one on DD is AF-D.

The most affordable prime you can get for your camera, of course with AF, is the Nikon AF-S 35mm f1.8 DX. If you really need a 50, the solution is Nikon AF-S 50mm f1.4 G or Sigma 50mm f1.4 but those are much expensive...

Thank you all for your advice. I will have to think about it.If the 1.4 AF D doesnt autofocus its probably not that much better for me than the 1.8
