Beginner Nikon Noise Reduction Question

This is probably a daft question but if you don' t know... ask.
I have a Nikon D850 and have progressed to this from a D80, D300 & D800. But the answer to one question has eluded me through all of them. Is High ISO Noise Reduction applied to RAW images in camera, or just those recorded in JPEG, TIFF etc.?

Pretty sure it has no effect on RAW images, only jpeg etc
