Nikon P7000 has died

My one month old Nikon P7000 has died.
It wont focus or zoom,took it back to the shop hoping to exchange it for a Panasonic lx5 but was past the exchange date so had to go back to Nikon for repair.Have had nikon gear for 20 years and the first time anythings packed in.
An other readers with the same issues?

You are within your rights that if the product is less than 6 months old you can insist on a refund. Thats law.

Under 6 months old and the item is deemed in law to be faulty from new and you can insist on a refund.

Funny it was on his program on Monday or Tuesday.

Tell the shop you want a full refund, under the sales of goods act and then go buy your panasonic elsewhere. Don't be beaten down by shop crap.
