faced with a quandary I have a canon 1D3 and sigma 150-600 sport ,also a couple of other lenses .70-200 and 28-105 ,I also own a canon eos- m with 18-55 is and also the adaptor to fit all the other lenses .
So I,m fairly well equipped for most circumstances and can also borrow other lenses from my son or wife if needed

But I keep getting a hankering for a Nikon p900 so has anyone had experience of one of these mega zoom beasts and would if be a good move as it's probably a cheaper move than either buying more eos-m lenses or a canon 70-300 L .want it more as a summer walkabout than total quality camera

Images from a megazoom bridge camera can be OK provided you don't pixel-peep and don't mind a bit of distortion. I owned a Fuji HS30EXR, and that was the camera that convinced me I wanted something that could produce better images and give more control than something with a compact sized sensor. If you must have a super-long lens on your summer walkabout camera then it's good (or the Canon equivalent is probably better) but if light weight and compact size is important then you'd do just as well with a decent phone cam.

I had one for a while when i was first unable to carry the DSLR and 150-600 round,it a fair little tool if kept within its capabilities, when it was obvious my DSLR days where over i changed to m4/3 and sold the P900,its biggest let down is very little scope for cropping and jpeg only.

A couple from it at full zoom
