Nikon - Picture Control and Image Setting

Do anyone adjust the setting? I left my on default and i shoot raw.

RAW doesnt use any of the picture settings controls, so just leave it on default.
Unless you use Nikon software, in which case I think it can call up the settings if you wish.
Lightroom and similar however just disregard any picture settings.

I generally prefer the "portrait" and "monochrome" picture controls over the "standard" picture control.

The only adjustments I make to the controls is to set sharpening to zero instead of the default figure (3 I think).

As I use View NX2 for viewing & editing then the software will read all the picture control settings so often no further adjustments are required, prior to exporting the image as a jpeg.

If using non Nikon software then there is not so much reason to use picture control settings as they can only be read by Nikon software. If you like shooting B&W then setting a monochrome picture control is handy when you want to check the picture on the camera LCD as the preview will be in B&W

Think I've tweaked the settings a little as the RAw software does the defaults for you then.

Only thing I've done is set to non vivid, as you can boost saturation etc in post processing.
