Nikon Prime prices????

Can anyone explain why the Nikon 35mm 1.4g and the 85mm 1.4g, are so much more expensive than the 50mm 1.4g. I assume these three are all FX lenses.

Yes, all 3 are FF lenses. Any Nikkor lens that's only Dx compatible will be marked as such - Dx. As for the reason 50s are so much cheaper - your guess is as good as mine.

More chunks of expensive glass? More coated elements?

The 50mm is a very simple design, with few elements, no exotic glass and no aspherical elements I would imagine.

A good example of this is the difference between the 85 f1.8 and tge the 85 f1.4.

Massive difference in price, but there is more glass in the f1.4 and its nano coated.

Thank you....I know the 35 and 85 are a lot bigger than 50. Wonder why Nikon doesn't make a 50 that's on par with the other two.
