A week or two ago i purchased an SB910 to replace one of my SB900 speedlights. I used my current SB900 for several weddings and on most it would overheat, even on lower power if i had to do multiple bursts with it.I sold my spare one which was hardly used and bought an SB910. I used the SB910 at a wedding over the weekend and it never got above the lowest temp on the scale. I know the SB910 was to address the overheat issue and by the looks of it it does just that.
For the SB900 overheat issue i tried different batteries as some had mentioned but to no avail. I found that the diffuser cap when in place really makes the heat up process much quicker as if heat is building up and not being allowed to escape--the new SB910 just doesnt get this issue..Thought i would let people know as im very happy with my new flash and will be getting a backup shortly.
