Hi,
anyone had a dealings or problems with Nikon Spares dept?
I,ve got a couple of Nikon lens that the bayonet mount has broke, so I emailled them a couple of months ago to ask about availablity and prices. I got a very quick reply with the price and told to phone to place an order, and to leave a message on the answerphone if no one answers. I rang and had to leave a message with my contact phone number. A week later and nothing, so I replied to the email asking if they got my message and got another quick reply to apologise and that they had phone problems then and that they would phone me ASAP. Well I got busy for a couple of weeks, then realised that they still hadn't phoned me, so I phoned them again a couple of days ago, and again left a message. Still nothing. Its a pitty that I need to actually speak to them to get the parts. Why in this day and age can't it be ordered online?
Frustrated:thumbsdown:

Why don't you just drop the lenses off and collect them when they're repaired?

Do you want to carry out the repair yourself?

I have to say they can sometimes be a bit rubbish about calling back, but my emails always get answered...

There were bought off ebay as broken, and too keep costs down, I will repair them myself. Any idea how much it would cost for a Nikon repair, as its only just the mount that needs changing? I,m guessing a lot more than the £10-£15 for the mount on its own.
Cheers,
Texy

Well it took another answerphone message, and another email to them, but they did phone me back in the end, and the parts arrived within 2 days:|
