I don't know much about these flashes but I see this description:

Wireless Flash Control Wireless Commander Mode controls up to 2 remote Speedlight groups and an unlimited number of compatible Speedlights. When used as a remote speedlight up to 3 Groups can be selected.

Does this mean that they somehow include some kind of built in wireless features?

Nikon flashes have something called the CLS Creative Light System which in turns means you can use Nikon flashes remotely.

You can set then into groups and control the outputs from the main commander.

Many higher end Nikon SLR'S that have a built in flash can be used as the commander unit to then control the flashes from the camera body

But their high end D4 does not

Im aware of that Richard, as I have a D4, I just think its strange thats all.

What is strange? None of the top end pro cameras have a built-in flash, for reasons of robustness (same as they don't have articulating screens) so can't function as commander units.

Doesn't the Hassleblad have a built in flash? Can't go much higher end than that! ;)

When using CLS on higher end (DX [as opposed to DXX etc]) Nikons, I believe people use either the dedicated commander module (whose model # escapes me ATM) or an SB-?00 as the master sender to control the others. IIRC, there's a cover that allows the control light through but blocks the visible so that light doesn't interfere with the others.

Hi, The "SU800" Commander unit is what your thinking of. Excellent piece of kit but does not transmit the lens zoom information to the remote flash units. Incedently neither do any of the units internal or external. This can only be done using dedicated leads. Hope this helps.
