Nikon Speedlight SB-600 fail - what to do

Last night my SB-600 met with a hard surface after a drop of about 3ft and although there's no visible/ cosmetic damage, and it powers up fine and the LCD panel is in FWO, unfortunately there's no longer any light discharge. This is when firing with test button or via trigger (CLS/ hotshoe).

Is there any history of reviving dead SB-600s or is it just a case of consigning it to the bin.
 
Take/send it to a Nikon repair centre!
 
True, but want to avoid an invoice for them just to look at tell me it's dead - sure I've seen a couple of threads about costs of just getting an estimate from them
 
It doesn't cost you anything to call them and ask if they charge a fee for looking at it.
