Nikon / Tamron or Sigma 18-200 lens

Hi all
I have a Nikon D40x with 18-55 kit lens, Nikon 55-200 (not VR) & Tamron 70-300 Im looking to replace the first two lenses with an 18-200. Does anyone have any experience of the Sigma or Tamron lenses ? The Nikon lens is much dearer but is it much better ?
Any help or experience with these lenses greatly appreciated.

Why do you want 18-200mm? As a jack of all trades it will not be a great performer regardless of brand (nikon may be better built and slightly sharper). I'd look for other well regarded lenses. It would help to know what it will be used for.
 
Agree with Daugirdas, unless a Nikon 18-200mm VR is an option for you
 
I was looking for something for everyday use to save swapping between the 18-55 & 70-200
 
if you want the 18-200, no substitue for the nikon vr option

although i have no experience of the others
