Sorry when you say Mk111 you mean they have three versions of it??.
In KL they cost about 320 quid

yes im pritty sure the Nikon TC-20E III 2x is the newest and is the 3rd 2x tc nikon have made, the also make a 1.4x and 1.7x which i believe are only mk2 at the moment.

I had one on evaluation for a week and can't say that it impressed me greatly, used it on my 70-200 f2.8 and 300 f4 and it seemed to be a lot of money for little advantage over my 1.7. May not have been able to fully test it due to committments but that was my overall impression.

but wasnt that the point that the old mk2 was a dog in comparsion to the 1.4 and 1.7 version and now its alot better and upto the job.

You may be right, but it's an awful lot of money for such little benefit IMO - I suppose if you've got plenty of cash to throw around and you don't need to much for it then that's fine but it didn't offer me £450 worth of benefit TBH.

depend what lens your gonna be using it on but i have seen pics on a 70-200mm and a 300 f2.8 and its awsome.

i would say that before buying anything to be fare, and you could well be right.

Tried one for about 20 minutes, D3S with 400mm f/2.8 and it was very, very good, AF was still quite snappy, there was an obvious loss in IQ but very very acceptable and it did seem to have a slight adverse effect on exposure, images were a little darker, possibly underexposing by half a stop but all in all very good with this combo
D3S and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8, got to say it was poor in all honesty, differing drops in IQ at different focal lengths and AF slowed quite dramatically and was twitchy, underexposure was also noticeable, very soft images at 200mm to soft at 70mm, would have to say it would be rubbish for field sports where AF speed and tracking are a priority.
To conclude, very good on Nikon long primes but poor on zooms
