Nikon teleconverters

Hi all,

Just a quick one for the Nikon specialists. Is the Nikon AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E II compatible with the 70-300mm VR lens? I cant seem to find an answer! Im using it on a D90. Any help or sample pictures ( if it is compatible) would be much appreciated.

No mate it isnt, i put one up for sale a while ago and someone with a 70-300mm wanted to buy it but it was pointed out it wasnt compatible

AFAIK, none of the Nikon teleconverters is compatible with the 70-300 VR. The "front" element of the converters would make physical contact with the rear element of the lens - NOT a good scenario! FWIW, the Teleplus 1.5x converter does fit but isn't worth it because of image degradation.
