Nikon to Canon converter

Hi folks

What do I lose by using a Nikon to Canon converter ? If I keep my D7000 + lenses and my 450D modded for astro work. Is there a 'best' converter if cost isn't an issue?

Everything electronic goes. That means no AF, no auto-diaphram control and no VR. The viewfinder will be stopped down to the set aperture at all times.
With the ~£10-30 adapters you see on ebay, you can only use D lenses since G lenses have no aperture ring. Novoflex do make a special adaptor that can mechanically alter the aperture of a G series lens, but needless to say this costs quite a lot more.

If manual focus and a stopped down viewfinder don't bother you then there aren't really any disadvantages. I wouldn't imagine those things to be important for astro photography.

Yeah. They're for astro, so won't be using AF anyway.

Full manual mode for bulb.

May save me from selling the D7000.
