Nikon V1 macro question

Hi All,

Just landed a V1 + flash. Any suggestions on macro lenses for the V1's? Looking to spend as little as possible :)

I also just picked up a V1, mainly to use with long lenses, via the FT-1 adapter, for a bit of a play with wildlife shooting.
I also intend to use my 105mm Nikon macro lens, as I've seen some great shots with this combo.
Due to the 2.7x crop factor on the V1, the magnification which can be acheived can be quite something.
Just looking for a cheap FT-1 now !!
 
I managed to pick up an FT-1 for £110 recently. Now I just need a 1 series to go with it! I'm waiting for the waterproof one to be available as a beach/snorkelling outfit capable of being used with an assortment of F mount lenses that I already have (including the 105mm VR Macro). Looking forward to playing, especially with the long end of the 70-300 and the 105mm. The kit lenses and the 18-270 Tamron are my planned travel kit, alongside a couple of baby X series Fujis. Should have most bases covered by that lot!
 
It was 2nd hand from a chain retailer. I had seen it a week before and when I decided I would afford the 1 WP, I bought it in antici....












....pation! now just need to wait for the WP to appear on the shelves.

Is the FT1 compatible with Canon lenses, I assume if it is it will be fully manual (no af or auto aperture)? I am thinking I could use a 100mm on the V1.

Are there any extension alternatives if I want to use the kit V1 lens?

The Ft-1 is for using Nikon lenses, and provided it is an "S" lens it will support full functions including autofocus, metering etc.
It won't allow you to stick a Canon lens on, due to the different mount.
However, I have seen a couple of "dumb" mounts which allow a Canon lens to be attached, but there will be no autofocus or metering etc.
These mounts for Canon are literally a couple of £s, so might be worth a punt.

As far as macro goes, I always use manual focus anyway.
There are not, AFAIK, any extension tubes etc for the V1.
